Take a short walk either down Mill Lane across the field or Beach Road to the beautiful sandy beach and reefs with the safety of a lifeguard area for swimming. The village has amenities close to the beach which include The Reef Bar, two cafes, amusements and a children's playground. There is also a well stocked shop.

From Sea Palling to Waxham is an area designated as one of outstanding natural beauty AONB, Waxham is a perfect place to bird watch and has the longest thatched barn in Norfolk which is open to the public.

A short drive from Waxham is Horsey with is lovely windpump and mere is mainly owned by The National Trust who restored the windpump after it was struck by lightning, it is open to the public and you can climb all the way to the top to see the beautiful views of Horsey. there is a 3 mile round walk starting at the windpump leads over broadland, flat countryside to the beach. Also in Horsey is Poppylands, a traditional tea-room and licenced restaurant.

Hickling Heath is another great place to moor a boat here you will find the Pleasure Boat Inn. In the centre of the village is Hickling Green here you will find The Greyhound pub, a little pond and many thatched cottages. Hickling is most famous for its large nature reserve owned by the National Wildlife Trust it has a visitor centre and many marked paths over the edge of the Broads with observation huts for bird watching along the way.

A ten minute drive takes you to Stalham, a market town, The High Street runs down the length of the town with many shops, cafe, take-aways and a supermarket with a petrol station. Mid-way down is the parish church with fine stained glass windows. At Stalham Staithe you can hire out boats to take on The Broads or visit the Museum of the Broads.

just down the A149 is the pretty Sutton Staithe which you can drive to or take a boat from Stalham and moor up at. It has a lovely pub and restaurant with beautiful scenery. There is also the Harmony Health and Beauty salon a great place to get a massage or your nails done! The other side of the A149 is the village of Sutton with lovely cottages around the village pond. Nearby is Sutton Mill, it is 9 storey's high and is the tallest surviving windmill in the UK.
